Introduction

Hitler's Olympic Winter Games 1936 covers the ten days of games held in Garmisch-Partenkirchen in Souther Germany. The games were opened by Hitler on 6 February 1936. This book contains more than 200 photos and drawings and several detailed maps, including the results of all competitions.

Additionally, the history of the Olympic Games from 1896 to 1936 is explained in the second half of the book. All 50 participating nations are listed with their overall (winter and summer games) medal count, including 28 nations that took part in the winter games only. Maps of all the event venues in Garmisch-Partenkirchen and Berlin are included. A torch run from Olympia to Berlin was introduced in 1936, reviving the original Greek tradition.

The book itself was aimed at a younger generation enjoying trading cards. More than 200 photo cards came individually with the purchase of cigarette packs.
